As a new bride I was insecure, ill-equipped, flustered, and overwhelmed by all that I managed.
When I was dating Eric, the thought of becoming a Christ-centered bride scared me to death! Any woman could become a wife, but that was not my heart's desire. I wanted to be a Christ-centered bride, yet, I didn't exactly know what that looked like in a practical sense.
I totally freaked out when Eric asked me to marry him because I had no domestic skills whatsoever. And my relationship skills? Well, they were lacking as much as one's bank account is at the end of the month.
I've been married now for 18 years and I have dug into the Word of God to find out how to do this life as a Christ-centered wife! Well, God has been faithful to show an eager student what His word says. And I want to show you!

Earlier this year I was asked to be a mentor for a new, on-line academy for Christian women, specifically, for homemakers. Whether you're a full-time homemaker or a part-time one, all women, in some way, shape, or form tend to their homes and the hearts within said homes. So, if you have a demanding career outside of the home, please don't let the name of the academy cause you to say, 'it's not for me.' That's what I would've said back when I was single and working. But, I know I could've used some training in the world of managing my home and tending to my precious relationships.
So, if you have a home and a desire to strengthen your relationships then this academy is for you!

I didn't grow up with godly role models showing me the ropes to a biblical marriage. Instead, what I witnessed were two people who co-existed with cold hearts empty of love.
Hearts weren't nurtured and needs weren't met all because of an overwhelmimg life and the lack of relationship skills needed for a fulfilling marriage.
But any woman who is willing to learn from God's Word can cultivate a thriving marriage- the type of marriage God intended.
